This was sooo delicious and super easy to make! We added more veggies and green chiles than it called for (we needed to use them before they went bad!), it was perfect! I also used heavy cream instead of cashew cream since we already had an open container in the fridge. Next time I think I will try it with the cashew cream.


This Broccoli Rice Casserole is very cheesy and delicious- it serves 12 as a side dish, but you might want to factor in seconds! 3 steps and some pantry staples make this dish easy- and if you follow the tip below, you can use uncooked rice and reduce the prep to 5 minutes! Saute onion and broccoli in butter, then add cream of chicken soup, cheese sauce and cooked rice. Spoon it into a casserole and bake- it gets all hot and bubbly and a little browned around the edges. Or, if you want a less indulgent but still delicious version, try: Broccoli Cheddar Rice


Came home from work and had ingredients in fridge and pantry . Browned a chicken breast then boiled to make broth but rest of receipt as stated . Best soup we ever had . Awesome and only took an hour ???

I love to poach the chicken for this recipe, but feel free to bake it or even use already prepared rotisserie chicken that you can pick up at almost any grocery store or warehouse store. This easy dinner recipe does not contain any cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken soup, as it is so easy to make a roux to thicken the chicken broth. Then I season the chicken sauce with cumin, chili pepper, and a pinch of cayenne.


I made this for dinner today along with a small pan of cornbread. It was wonderful.I made it a little healthier by using campbells low sodium ready to serve cream of chicken soup and low sodium soy sauce. I also added 2 teaspoons of ms. Dash table blend seasoning, a little black Pepper and some fresh ground sea salt. Cooked 2 lb. Fresh green beans inChicken broth. Doubled the mushrooms as we both love them. Added 1/2 cup more cheese and sprinkled on top.We ate it as a main dish. Loved it.


Cook the fresh green beans in the chicken broth to add flavor to the green beans and to get them to a softer texture, and then drain. If canned green beans are used, they are already soft and my guess is yes- omit the chicken broth- since it is just used while cooking the green beans. I am making this recipe now and used fresh green beans. I am just going to say in my humble opinion canned green beans are blucky.

I have tried many chicken noodle soup recipes, and this is by far the best- simple, tasty and healthy- perfect tri-fecta. Love not adding the noodles until ready to serve. This will be a staple in our house!

Here in St. Louis, we order them often when picking up a fried fish or chicken dinner, or if we're out for some BBQ. I know they're canned green beans, but they are seasoned and cooked with bacon or ham and are just so dang good!


Canned chicken noodle soup was the meal my mom warmed up for us on sick days while she balanced getting us well (read: back to school) with getting work done at home. Chicken and rice soup, however, was made from scratch and an all-day affair we savored.


Chicken and rice soup is just the sort of thrifty luxury we should all master in the kitchen. A whole chicken is simmered to both make the rich broth and for the tender chicken it yields. The rest of the soup is built on the bits and bobs you probably have in the kitchen right now: a few banged-up carrots, some limp celery, a partial bag of rice. The resulting soup is nourishing, full of chicken, tender vegetables, and rice that creates a creamy thickness without any cream.


When the rice is tender and the chicken is shredded, be sure to taste the broth and add any additional salt and pepper. Fish out the bay leaves and return the shredded chicken to the pot before serving. Serve the soup in deep bowls, preferably at a table filled with friends or family.
